November 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM to January 04, 2009 at 5:00 PM

Come see what’s new at Bok Tower Gardens’ Christmas at Pinewood holiday home tour November 28 through January 4. Capture the spirit of the holidays when you step back in time to a golden era at the National Historic Landmark in Lake Wales.

This year’s theme, “Once Upon a Time… A Storybook Christmas,” transforms the 20 room, 1930s Pinewood Estate into a magical wonderland. The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Night Before Christmas, Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin and many more of your favorite childhood stories come to life.

The holidays are a great time to stroll the Olmsted woodland gardens as the 60 bell Singing Tower carillon performs daily concerts at 1 and 3 p.m.

On December 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m., holiday concerts will feature soloist Ginger Statom along with the holiday home tour and a champagne reception before the performance.

On December 25, enjoy Christmas carols from around the world during carillon concerts at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Blue Palmetto Café and Gift Shop will be open from noon to 5 p.m. The holiday home tour will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults; $6 for children ages 5-12, free for children under 5; $7 members. Tickets do not include general Gardens admission and can be purchased at the entrance gate, Visitor Center, Pinewood Estate, and online at www.boktowergardens.org. Group rates are available.

A National Historic Landmark, Bok Tower Gardens is one of America’s finest gardens with a 205 foot majestic Singing Tower and world-famous 60 bell carillon. It was dedicated in 1929 as a gift to America from Edward W. Bok, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, humanitarian and an advocate of world peace.
