Market on Kentucky, a vibrant indoor marketplace showcasing some of Lakeland’s most exciting emerging businesses, will host its official ribbon cutting ceremony on May 1st at 4:30 PM at 132 S. Kentucky Avenue, in partnership with the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. While the Market has been open since January, the ribbon cutting marks its official debut and a celebration of the many entrepreneurs and makers who now call it home.
Market on Kentucky is more than just a shopping destination — it’s a launchpad for local dreams. Many of the vendors within the space began their journeys at Catapult Lakeland, the city’s entrepreneurial hub and incubator for small businesses. The Market offers them a brick-and-mortar platform to grow their brands, connect with the community, and thrive in the heart of downtown. “We’re proud to be a space where small businesses, many of whom started at Catapult, can take their next big step,” said Tina Calhoon. “This ribbon cutting is about more than just opening our doors. It’s about celebrating the spirit of local collaboration that makes Lakeland so special.” Located next to Frescos Southern Kitchen & Bar, Market on Kentucky features a thoughtfully curated mix of local vendors offering handmade goods, specialty foods, unique gifts, and more— all in a warm, welcoming space designed to inspire connection. The event is open to the public and will include remarks from community leaders, light refreshments, giveaways, and the chance to meet the local entrepreneurs who make the Market so special.
