For the second year in a row, BayCare’s Graduate Medical Education program filled 100% of its open residency positions after completing a successful Match Day on March 20, nearly doubling the size of the program. This July, BayCare will welcome 194 new residents into its program, bringing the total number to more than 400. Cash, D.Sc., FACHE, as its new director of operations. Cash brings more than 15 years of hospital leadership experience across academic medical centers and community health systems nationwide. In his new role, Cash will oversee operational strategy, capital planning, and hospital performance initiatives, working closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative leaders to advance patient outcomes, strengthen operational excellence, and support continued service expansion. Bartow Regional Medical Center Expansion Project Update Facilities Manager Carlos Felix took some time to tour the hospital in the midst of its $110 million expansion project. Watch the video: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1307410091434204 Innovative Procedure to Control High Blood Pressure Now Available at Winter Haven Hospital A new procedure aimed at controlling blood pressure is now available at Winter Haven Hospital. The procedure targets nerves near the kidneys that can become overactive and cause elevated blood pressure. During the minimally invasive procedure, the doctor inserts a very thin tube into the renal arteries and applies thermal energy to disrupt the nerves. The tube is removed, leaving no implant behind. The patient is under mild sedation during the procedure and is expected to go home on the same day.
