The Public Education Partnership of Winter Haven, Inc. (‘PEP’), a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) grass roots organization, is committed to assuring that Winter Haven’s schools are unequaled in quality, relevance and student performance. PEP seeks to improve its schools through advocacy, community engagement and collaborative partnerships. PEP’s board consists of educators, businessmen and women, and community leaders.
This ground breaking community collaboration has resulted in a call-to-action for citizens passionate about improving education outcomes for students. Since the creation of PEP, they have opened an after-school tutoring center in Northeast Winter Haven, a Career Connection mentoring program and launched the Cambridge Academy at Denison Middle School. Denison is the first middle school in Polk County to offer this curriculum.
PEP has been integral part of the successes of our schools. They continue to work on the greatest challenges affecting Winter Haven public schools through community partnerships, collaboration and listening to the needs of school faculty, staff and students.
PEP has identified several initiatives to work towards. Those are:
Advance Curriculum and Academy Pathways
Middle School Athletics
Music and the Arts
On Grade Reading Level by Third Grade and Associated Programs
