The legislative session didn't go quite as everyone planned, and quite understandably so. The tragedy in Parkland, FL diverted attention from many of the initiatives that were originally top priorities for the House and Senate. In some ways, this was good for business. In other ways it impacted funding for many of our local community members. See below for a recap of a general session overview. Daylight Savings Time: File this one in the random column: The Florida Legislature has passed bill that asks for the federal Congress to consider keeping Florida in Daylight Savings Time all year. Senator Marco Rubio has stated that he will bring this bill up for discussion. You can read more about this in The Ledger.
