As we edge toward the weekend, I want to ensure the resources are at your fingertips to help you move forward. Here's some new information released this week; you will also find this information on our website www.winterhavenchamber.com, conveniently located under the COVID-19 and/or Business Recovery pages.
Navigating which programs are for you: For those needing some assistance navigating a path through the various relief programs and evaluating the most appropriate route for them, we have wonderful support through the Central Florida Development Council’s (CFDC) Javier Marin, please email him at COVID@cfdc.org and he will consult with you to find the right options for you.
Paycheck Protection Program: Our local lenders are working diligently to process your PPP loan applications and the current advice is to approach your own bank first. Our partners at the CFDC have complied a list of participating local lenders which they will update as more come online. For potential PPP borrowers, this page from the US Treasury has a lot of useful information, and you can print an application here. I know that many of you have questions and The Dept. of Treasury released a FAQ’s sheet you may find useful.
Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan (EBL): The Florida SBDC at USF is working tirelessly to process EBL applications and prepare them for the independent loan committee. FSBDC at USF Associate Director Carl Hadden reminded everyone that ALL applications have been received, whether submitted via email, mail or via the Florida DEO website. Applications are being processed in the order received (250+ applications so far). If you already submitted an application, please do not submit it again. Information about state and federal business assistance programs can also be found at www.SBDCTampaBay.com/coronavirus. The DEO’s page for the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan is www.floridajobs.org/rebuildflorida/businessrecovery. Florida DEO can be reached at (833) 832-4494 for assistance applying for an EBL.

At this time, maybe more than any other, I feel blessed to be a part of this community, each day I receive calls from people offering assistance to the needy, offering food and support for our families and seniors, asking “what can I do to help?”, I see people continuously “stepping up to the plate” helping their fellow man, and it assures me beyond all else that we will get through this and at the other side of this we will be stronger!
Kindest regards - Amanda-Jo
