Business Assistance: Funding: Along with our partners at the U.S. Chamber and the Florida Chamber, we are encouraging Congress to replenish the funding to the various loan programs to meet demand from small businesses in need. For the latest guidelines on the various programs click below:

A reminder that at this time, while employers may choose to issue letters confirming your status with them and your purpose for travel, there is currently no ruling in place at City or State level asking for this. There is also no City or County curfew in place in Winter Haven or Polk County. State: Reemployment Applications: Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) have been working around the clock to accommodate the increased demand. In the last week, 72 additional servers were installed to strengthen the platform, which doubled capacity to 120,000 users at a time. The reemployment assistance site is now mobile friendly, and a new app has further increased access points for those filing unemployment claims. Federal: Social Media Toolkit from the CDC: The CDC created a useful social media toolkit to help localized efforts in responding to COVID-19. USDA Unveils Resources to Help Rural Communities: The COVID-19 Federal Rural Resource Guide is a one-stop-shop of federal programs that can be used by rural communities, organizations and individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a first-of-its-kind resource for rural leaders looking for federal funding and partnership opportunities to help address this pandemic. For more information on USDA actions, visit www.usda.gov/coronavirus. “Path Forward” program & virtual event series launched by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is an initiative to address how Americans and businesses can return to work safely, successfully, and sustainably. The program includes a comprehensive framework of considerations, an event series that will feature diverse viewpoints from the public and private sectors, and recommendations on the practices and policies needed to begin a phased process to bring the full American economy back to work. Federal Reserve’s Main Street Lending Program: this program opened yesterday to facilitate loans to larger businesses (companies with between 500 and 10,000 employees). The minimum loan amount is $1 million and businesses may use this program in addition to PPP. More details to come on this.
