A Message from your Chamber Vice President - Florida's Safe, Smart, Step-by-Step Recovery Plan4/30/2020 As always our aim is to bring you the essential information you need to make informed decisions about your business, your families and your lifestyles. Governor DeSantis tonight announced Phase 1 of the “Safe, Smart, Step-by-Step” plan for Florida’s Recovery. If you would like to read the Governor's full presentation, click here.  On the above graphic are the points given in tonight's briefing, I fully understand that this doesn’t answer all of the questions you may have and I will continue to liaise with our partners at the Florida Chamber and bring you additional information in the coming hours and days.
Governor DeSantis explained that he has taken a very deliberate, data driven and methodical approach to restarting Florida’s economy, while maintaining strong safety standards. He added that he had not put timeframes on when “Phases 2 and 3” will be activated, as data is being analyzed daily and he wants to be able to consider these issues day by day, recognizing the need to open up industries as soon as safely possible. As our very own Chamber President Katie, was quoted in the Florida Chamber’s statewide communications this morning, “the feedback we’re hearing from our members is that Floridians are ready to reopen our economy in a thoughtfully-executed way, relying on the health experts and with the safety of each other as our top priority. It will be up to every Floridian to help the economy restart and stay open by adhering to safety guidelines, supporting local businesses and non-profits and helping each other rebuild and adapt into the new normal and we look forward to working with Governor DeSantis through each phase of reopening Winter Haven" As YOUR Chamber we will work through these phases WITH YOU, to help you restart your business, recover the business lost and to assist our entire community re-imagine what our future will look like. As a starting point, we would strongly urge our businesses to consider these points when planning their reopening (please note these are merely suggestions, not government mandates). As this rolls out there will no doubt be more questions and we will bring you new and redesigned programing to help inform, educate and support you through this journey.
