A Message from your Chamber Vice President - Phased plan to Open up City facilities/parks/ramps4/28/2020 I know there is a lot of information coming at you right now, so I’m going to keep this email about the re-opening phased plan which was voted on at our City Commission meeting tonight.
Restart – Local The commission voted in line with the detailed recommendations presented by city staff that city facilities will follow a safe, phased re-opening schedule over the course of the next few weeks, details of which facilities will open, and when can be found here. All phases of the plan were voted on tonight and will move forward as scheduled, but they will be readdressed as needed and changes may be made based on how the virus impacts our community. NOTE - for these to remain open, the City Manager noted, it will require us as citizens to respect social distancing requirements and be SMART about this. No decisions have been made yet for City-run summer camps. Theatre Winter Haven will be allowed back in their facility in May to begin to prepare for future shows in June and beyond. They will, of course, have to come up with protocols for their performances. Restart – State Governor DeSantis and his team spent the weekend reviewing comments and recommendations from his Re-Open Florida Executive Task Force and the three separate Working Groups. These groups were made up of industry leaders, encompassed economic & safety data from our partners at the Florida Chamber & Chamber Foundation and encompassed representatives from many industry types. As soon as the Governors report is released we will send this out to you. I continue to feel blessed to be working with our wonderful members, Chamber team and community at large, your tenacity throughout this has been incredible.
