 Today, the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team has created a trip through the space/time continuum that will take you back to the poodle skirt 50's, then zoom you through a time warp featuring a solo star swivel ski ballerina eclipsed by a modern day chorus line of 14 Aquamaids, each performing on a single sky with a 360 degree rotating base plate. Not every Cinderella can handle this slipper. Ride along as ski jumping and acrobatics progress through time. Single long distance jumps morph into team challenges, flips, gainers, mobius spins, helicopters and other out of this world adventures. Watch the sky skier fly into orbit over the boat wake as he spins, turns, flips and lands with the ease of zero gravity. The "Back to the Future" show has been preparing for launch since January. This concept was conceived by Travis Voisard, directed by Mark Voisard and accomplished through the tireless efforts of the 150 volunteer members of the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team. The team will perform "Back to the Future" on Lake Silver on June 17th as part of our regular performance schedule. This will be the final dress rehearsal as we prepare for the Southern Region Ski Show Tournament to be held in Oldsmar (near Tampa) on the 24th and 25th of June, where we debut at 11:00 a.m. We are striving to improve our second place award from 2016. Costumes, music and water sports talents fuel the flight of the plutonium powered time machine as Dr. Brown helps Marty McFly go back in time to secure his fate and the happiness of his mother. Hover boards, jumping robots, dancers and lovely lab ladies will provide the thrills as the time machine on water launches through the 80's and on to twenty twenty-seven. Winter Haven, come "Back to the Future" and follow the legacy of the Cypress Gardens with the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team. Crowds have enjoyed the Cypress Gardens Aquamaids and Champions performing shows on Lake Eloise since 1940's. Barefoot skiing was invented on Lake Howard in 1946 and Cypress Gardens hosted the 1957 World Championship Water Ski Tournament. Several Hollywood films and Television Specials propelled this tourist attraction to the title "Water Ski Capital of the World."
