Bartow Ford, who celebrated its 76th year in business in April, was honored last week at Polk Vision’s Leadership Polk Graduation Luncheon, with the organization’s Spirit of Leadership Award. Each year, through this award, the Leadership Polk Alumni Association recognizes an organization that is committed to improving the Polk County Community – and specifically enhances the county’s leadership pools. No award could be more fitting for the auto dealer because their charitable outreach is massive. Bartow Ford has supported the Achievement Academy, Central Florida Speech & Hearing Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Habitat for Humanity, Polk State Foundation, Polk Education Foundation, The Humane Society, Peace River Center, Victory Ridge, Future Farmers of America Scholarships, Kids Pack, Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Metropolitan Ministries, Polk County Youth Fair, PACE, VISTE, Women’s Care Center, Women’s Resource Center, a number of local schools, and Youth Sports.
Additionally, over the years, the dealership has created several on-site events that allow us to serve the community, one on one—including a country concert in 2023 featuring Lee Brice, which helped raise over $75,000 for various charities. Further, Bartow Ford specifically seeks opportunities to promote the area’s youth – the county’s future leaders. One of Bartow Ford’s signature events, Drive for Excellence, was established 31 years ago to encourage excellence in education among Polk County Juniors and Seniors. Students who achieve A’s, and B’s have a chance to win a new Ford vehicle. “Giving is about more than making a donation,” explained Benny Robles Jr., President of Bartow Ford. “It is about making a difference.
