 Our Winter Haven Police Department, under the leadership of Chief Charlie Bird, has focused on serving and protecting the businesses of Winter Haven. The City of Winter Haven's EAP (Employee Assistance Program) coordinator, Mediation & Counseling Consultants, Inc, is hoping to unite our city through a campaign to show support for the Winter Haven Police Department. They are asking local business owners or civic organizations to sign up each week during the month of November as a WHPD sponsor. They hope to get one business each day in November to provide a service or a meal to the police officers as a gesture of support and appreciation. For example, a local hair salon is providing vouchers for free haircuts one week to our officers and a local private school is going in to bring artwork and thank you cards to our officers. There is also an opportunity for businesses to contribute $50.00 toward sponsorship of this campaign. Each business will receive a 24x18 sign with their business name and logo recognizing your business as standing in support of WHPD.
In addition to your business recognition sign, you will receive 10 bumper stickers that read: “WINTER HAVEN UNITED: STANDING IN SUPPORT OF WHPD.” Another avenue of support is the creation of a Facebook Page that offers encouraging words to our officers and will also display photos of the businesses and their acts of support toward the WHPD. As you know, the officers engage in good deeds every day. They hope to promote the good that our officers do through posting their positive interactions with them. The goal is to gain citywide awareness about what selfless acts our officers perform each day. This encouragement and support is an effective tool to boost the moral, confidence and performance of our law enforcement community who protect and serve us every day.
