 Almost a year ago, many people from the community joined CenterPoint Community Church for their Ground Breaking Ceremony on March 16, 2017. Within two weeks, Everett Whitehead & Son Construction had crews onsite and dirt was being bulldozed to kick-off construction. On May 26 the foundation was poured, and on June 12 the steel building kit arrived from Metallic Buildings in Texas. The construction project was completed and they assumed the certificate of occupancy on their new facilities on December 1, having a Soft Opening service on December 10. Since that time, CenterPoint Church has seen a steady flow on new faces and families from the surrounding community. Regular attendance has doubled and they are now working hard to make relationship connects to provide new groups, classes, ministries and service opportunities. On March 1, they are extending an invitation to the community to join them for their Ribbon Cutting at 4:30 p.m., followed by tours of the new facility. March 4th will be the Worship Celebration and will include a Dedication Ceremony. Since their first soft opening they have installed new equipment, video projectors, smart TVs, appliances, office furniture, new tables, Bibles and many other things. The total estimate for project costs, including outfitting the building, to date are about $885,000, of which over $830,000 has already been paid. Of all the pledges made, almost 97% were actually received, leaving only a little over 3% unfulfilled, which is an unbelievable rate. This was all done with no outside fundraising consulting or help. CenterPoint Church will continue to welcome Building Fund donations, which will go to furnishing, decorating and upgrading their facilities. There is still much to be done, but they are grateful for the support they have received throughout this endeavor.
