One of the many goals of The Tropics is to grow the talent of young people in the area. Interviewed for this Ledger article, Dr. Panagiotis said, “One of the difficulties that we’ve found in young men and women playing in our area is the lack of talented coaches that can teach our kids to become talented players. We have quite a few individuals here that are quite talented, but the lack of teaching puts them in a second group when they go to colleges.”
The indoor team and the Premier Development Team will be separate teams, but players will continue to stay in Lakeland to play on the Premier Development League as well as the indoor team. The supporters of The Tropics’ indoor team will be encouraged to support the PDL team by receiving incentives for doing so. Andrew Haines, founder and co-owner of The Tropics says, according to the Ledger, “Everyone who’s a season ticket holder without indoor team will receive free season tickets to see our PDL team. We just want to reward them for their early support.” Read the full Ledger article here.

I love this team-up, and it will prove immensely valuable for the people of Florida. Something positive will come out of this soon!
