Many individuals and companies from across Polk County helped Achievement Academy this summer. While children were out of school playing and enjoying their summer vacation, volunteers pitched in behind the scenes to make a huge difference at all three of our campuses. Gator Giles, owner of Gator Pressure Cleaning & Custom Painting, Inc. of Winter Haven gave Achievement Academy’s Winter Haven campus a complete makeover. They donated all supplies and labor to give the school fresh paint, a trimmed oak tree on the playground and made the campus ready for children to return to school. Benny Robles, Jr., President/General Manager of Bartow Ford and his wife, Jenny, their children and children’s friends, along with Randy Saunders, Vice President of BB&T Wealth and Lori Hollingsworth, Commercial Sales Associate for BB&T Commercial Banking, spent the morning sweating in the hot sun, as they shoveled and spread 20 yards of mulch on Achievement Academy’s Bartow campus playground. The Robles also purchased much needed shovels, wheelbarrows and gloves to help complete this project.
Henry Turner, President of Esterline Landscaping Company, and some of his employees came out to mulch the Achievement Academy’s playgrounds at the Lakeland and Winter Haven campus. This was no small job, as it was a total of 60 yards of mulch. The individuals in this community always come through to help children. It really does take a village to help all children succeed, or in our case...a community. Thank you to all of our Community Partners!
