 On February 24th, Chamber Member BJ Mannix, with Mannix Pools and Grills, hosted the inaugural Eggfest event! Through this event, hundreds of people in the community were able to come together to, not only see expert chefs showing off their cooking skills on The Big Green Egg, but also to benefit two amazing Winter Haven organizations, Girls Inc. of Winter Haven and the Citrus Center Boys and Girls Club. Attendees voted to award "winner" status and bragging rites to the person who cooked the most delicious and tasty treat on their Big Green Egg.
Winter Haven is known for its collaborative spirit and this event is doesn’t shy away from that truth. The event also saw sponsorships from Chamber members, Citizens Bank & Trust, American Liberty Mortgage and Tech Mate who are great supporters of our local community and of our non-profit organizations. This event raised a grand total of $8,678.90 and on April 3rd, BJ Mannix and his crew presented Girls, Inc. of Winter Haven and Citrus Center Boys and Girls Club with their checks, then joined with Chamber member Rick’s Bar-B-Q to serve 400+ students a delicious meal to celebrate! The 2019 Eggfest event has already been scheduled for February 23rd of 2019 - save the date!
