A team from the Winter Haven High School Technobotics Academy have qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship! This Championship, the worlds largest robotics competition according to the Guinness World Records, will take place in April in Louisville, Kentucky. They not only qualified for the Championship and brought home two Tournament Champions trophies in the past, they also brought home the finalist trophy at their most recent competition. In the Technobotic Academy, students are able to get hands-on experience in robotic training, technological advances and science. They also are given the opportunity learn more about up and coming technologies that will help them as they join the workforce following high school. These competitions give students the chance to compete with their robotic skills and to have friendly comradery with fellow technobotics students from other areas. In order for the team to move forward to the Championship, they will need help from the Winter Haven community. The Technobotics Academy at Winter Haven High School has 5 team members and they all wish to have this opportunity to move on to the next level in this educational arena. The team estimates the cost to be around $6,000. This cost will cover transportation, lodging and registration for the team to participate.
