Are you unemployed? Underemployed? Do you have employees who you feel could benefit from additional training so that they can advance?
Jobs for Life is a no-cost transformational 12 week program that helps the under-employed or the unemployed find their right work-place. Students meet once a week for dinner followed by two hours of interactive instructions. The journey towards success in this program is maximized by the fact that each of the 15 students is paired up with community champion (mentor) who walks alongside the student for the duration of the program, coaching and encouraging. The program is a faith-based program.
The next class will begin on March 2, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church, 327 Avenue C SE, Winter Haven.
Heart for Winter Haven, a 501 (c) 3 ministry in Winter Haven is sponsoring Jobs for Life as one of their many pro-active community outreach programs. The opportunity for the community to be involved is great. Each program is run under the direction of a Site Leader who works with the following volunteers:
Ways to Get Involved:

Business Relations Leader: Serves as the “ambassador” and “spokesperson” for the JfL efforts to the business community. (S)he communicates the mission, vision and benefits of JfL training and solicits their help by participation with the business panel, mock interviews and potential of hiring students.

Prayer Team Leader: Coordinates and encourages a prayer team committed to pray regularly and specifically for all components and people involved with the JfL training.
Training and support will be provided to all individuals committing to serve in any one of these important roles.
Each of the positions require a commitment of time on a weekly basis. The specific time required will vary with the position held.
Other than the desire and willingness to grow reflected in a time commitment, there is absolutely no cost involved to the student.
Heart for Winter Haven underwrites the costs of each of these courses and for a program with a maximum of 15 students, the cost is $5.000. This includes all of the books and materials, meals, child care services and other incidentals not including the facilities. These are typically provided by a church at no cost.
The opportunity to be involved in supporting a program beyond volunteering, can vary from sponsoring full course at $5,000.00, sponsoring a student at $300.00 or sponsoring a dinner for one evening at $200.00.
Should anyone have the desire to build a better community through building a better person, this opportunity is unequalled.
There will be an informational/training meeting held at Christ Community Church, 1895 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven on February 16, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.. An opportunity to learn more details of the job descriptions of a champion and a one our training for those who want to commit will be provided.
