 We would like to congratulate KB Staffing on being awarded Business of the Month! Kelly Braaten, President of KB Staffing, has made it her top priority to make a difference in the lives of those in her community, specifically children and those affected by food insecurity. Kelly does her best to fly under the radar, as most community servants do, but she is a light shining through the many organizations she involves herself in. She works with the Polk Education Foundation as a scholarship reader and also donates her time on many of their projects. She is also a Polk County School Volunteer, where she reads to small children, helps grade papers and is always available for whatever the school needs.
Take Stock in Children is another organization that she supports. She helps sponsor events, speaks to potential mentors in the community and is a mentor herself. She beamed with a bright smile as she shared with us that they are able to donate one, four year scholarship to a high school graduate. One of the graduates that received one of her scholarships is now graduating! This will be their 5th year being a part of this organization. Kelly has a strong passion for the hungry as well. To make a difference in this area, she spends time at The Mission of Winter Haven, donating for their pantry and other special needs that they may have. Kids Pack is another organization that helps feed children. Kelly raises money for Kids Pack, volunteers at events and serves as a drop off location. Kelly is the type of person who likes to be a voice for those who don’t have one and she is doing a tremendous job of putting action behind that voice. Congratulations on winning this award! It’s very well deserved.
