Knights of Columbus Council 7091 Donates $500 to Catholic Charities for Holiday Mobile Food Drop11/29/2018 ![]() A generous financial contribution from Knights of Columbus Council 7091 of Cypress Gardens is helping Catholic Charities Polk County Ministries provide food for hundreds of needy Polk County people just in time for the Christmas holiday. Brooklynne Atwell, manager of development, community and volunteer relations of Catholic Charities Polk County Ministries, accepted a $500 check earmarked for its Holiday Mobile Food Drop from the council’s Deputy Grand Knight Ken Nelson. “This donation enables us to bring food to our neighbors in need, including fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen meats, canned goods and dry goods before the Christmas holiday. Catholic Charities Polk County Ministries appreciates the continued support of the K of C,” Atwell said, noting the initial Holiday Mobile Food Drop was in Dundee.
Headquartered at 801 S Florida Avenue in Lakeland, Catholic Charities Polk County Ministries offers a multitude of programs for needy children, families and seniors throughout Polk County. These include the Agape Mission Market in Lake Wales; the Lakeland Activity Center for Seniors; the Family Stability Program, and Mobile Services for Seniors currently in Lake Wales and Polk City.
