Knights of Columbus Council 7091 Donates $500 to Meals On Wheels for Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday11/19/2018 Donating funds to worthy causes is something the Knights of Columbus takes delight in doing throughout the year, but especially during the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season. As part of its obligation to support charitable causes, Knights of Columbus Council 7091 of Cypress Gardens donated $500 to Winter Haven-based Meals on Wheels of Polk County. The donation was presented at MOW’s annual meeting/volunteer appreciation dinner on November 13 in Heartland Church in downtown Winter Haven. An estimated 200 MOW volunteers, staff and board members attended the function.
The donation was presented to Susan Eldridge, executive director of Meals on Wheels, by Billy Bob Morris, who chairs Council 7091’s charity committee. The council’s Deputy Grand KnightKen Nelson also attended the function in his dual roles as a K of C officer and a MOW board member. Headquartered at 620 Sixth Street in Winter Haven, MOW of Polk County is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization that each year prepares and delivers 80,000 meals to homebound people in Winter Haven, Auburndale, Lake Alfred, Dundee, Haines City, Lake Hamilton, Davenport and parts of Lakeland.

Wonderful contribution to a worthy cause! Would love for them to participate in getting adults back to school for their GED to help all our society.
