 The NBA G League released its 2021-22 schedule today and announced the defending champion Lakeland Magic will open their season on Friday, November 5 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida against the Texas Legends, NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. The Magic and Legends will play again the following night on a back-to-back with both games scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Each NBA G League team will play a 50-game regular season: 24 home, 24 away, and two neutral site games at the annual Winter Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lakeland will play a total of 12 home games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this season. The 2021-22 Magic schedule also features seven back-to-back contests (three home/home back-to-backs, and four away/away back-to-back). The Magic will play six games in November (four home, two away), 10 games in December (four home, six away), 12 games in January (five home, seven away), eight games in February (five home, three away), 13 games in March (five home, eight away) and one home game in April.
The longest homestand of the season will be from March 6 through March 14 spanning five games. Lakeland will face a season-long seven-game road trip from March 17 through March 31. Lakeland closes the regular season at home on Saturday, April 2 vs. the Maine Celtics at 7:00 p.m. The full 2021-22 schedule breakdown is included below.
