The Learning Resource Center of Polk County, Inc. (LRC) offers high school students the opportunity to gear up for the December 2019 ACT or SAT with the final preparation courses of the Fall 2019 semester. LRC’s test prep programs help students in grades 9-12 achieve their best possible score through problem-solving strategies and specific techniques while developing the motivation needed to build confidence and reduce test anxiety. ACT Prep is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays during November 3-December 11, 2019. (No class Nov. 11, 13, 25 or 27)
SAT Prep is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays during November 5-December 5, 2019. (No class Nov. 26 or 28) Each full course will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. over four weeks at the Learning Resource Center and will include one Saturday writing session from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost of the full SAT Prep or ACT Prep course is $575. In addition to the programs mentioned, LRC offers year-round one-to-one tutoring throughout Polk County for students of all levels. Highly-qualified educators will provide each student with customized, academic opportunities designed to meet the student’s individual learning style. As a nonprofit United Way agency, LRC offers a Sliding Fee Scale based on the gross annual household income and number of household members per FPL guidelines.
