The Winter Haven City Commission elections will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd and with all of the positive momentum our city is experiencing it's important that we stay engaged in the process to ensure that business friendly, community-minded policies thrive. While the prospective candidates have until the week of September 14- 18, 2015 to officially declare and turn in the necessary paperwork, several have already publicly thrown their hats in the ring. Incumbents:
Mayor Nathaniel Birdsong Commissioner James "JP" Powell Additional candidates: Joseph Bogdahn Kemp Brinson Carmelo Garcia Again, there is certainly a lot of chatter but these are the candidates who have made it official at this point. Our objective is to keep you informed. At the Chamber we focus on and advocate for issues that affect our business community and Winter Haven's future. We do not endorse specific candidates. That is not changing. But what we do want is for you to know where the candidates stand on the issues you have told us are important to your business and personal quality of life. Over the course of the next two and half months we will survey the candidates to get their opinion on those issues and will host the official City Commission Candidates Forum on October 7th at the Chamber from 7:30 am to 9:30 am, sponsored by Sharit, Bunn & Chilton, P.A.
