Paddleboard Winter Haven was awarded Small Business of the Month for February! Lakeside Lifestyle is an integral part of Winter Haven, but even more so is our local businesses who pride themselves on being involved in the community. Paddleboard Winter Haven is a great example of community spirit and creating a lakeside lifestyle for everyone!
Kami Rickert, owner of Paddleboard Winter Haven, is creating a community on and off the lake. Winter Havenites and out of town visitors are welcome to join Kami and her certified instructors on the lake for lake tours, parties, yoga on the water and so much more. Each tour taken comes with a lesson that teaches each participant how to be successful on the board. Through these tours and lessons, Kami has created collaboration and community relationships that take her far past the Chain of Lakes.
Paddleboard Winter Haven supports the community through local events, non-profit organizations and more. On the water, she works with the Special Olympics of Polk County to run their Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) events. Back on dry land, she held a toy drive in 2018 to benefit The Mission of Winter Haven and they plan to continue this partnership for years to come. They also involve themselves in events like Relay for Life with Muscle Central and Lake Wale's Rotary of the Ridge. Rotary has a focus on water safety with a project called “Josh the Otter.” This project educates children and families on the importance of water safety and swim lessons.
Kami has expressed her excitement about creating a “paddleboard community,” while also contributing to local and wide-scale causes. We are so proud of Paddleboard Winter Haven and the splash they have made in our community!
