Polk State College and the University of Central Florida (“UCF”) are pleased to announce an exciting partnership between the two schools for students seeking admission to UCF Online undergraduate and graduate programs. Transfer Connect offers Polk State College students an opportunity to engage with UCF Online Student Success Coaches who will help students transfer into one of UCF’s fully online bachelor programs without having to travel to Orlando. Further, with articulated 2+2+2 pathways, an online master's degree is also achievable. The agreement will be formalized at a ceremony on Friday, August 18 at 12:30 p.m. at the Polk Sate Lakeland campus, room LTB 1124. Members of the media and community are invited to attend. Through this innovative program, students can declare their intention to transfer into UCF Online while still pursuing their associate’s degree. With the guidance of an UCF Online Student Success Coach, students will create a plan that ensures a seamless transition into a university program. The partnership also includes reduced fees and in some cases, waived fees, as well as student success coaching, marketing, and much more.
“Entering into this agreement with the University of Central Florida provides our students with significant access and opportunity,” said Dr. Donald Painter, Polk State College interim vice president of academic affairs. “It allows students to earn a degree from a state university without traveling from home and at a reduced cost. It also connects them to success coaches who will ensure they get and stay on a path to achieve their goals.” “UCF has been at the forefront of distance learning for more than two decades, helping students obtain a high-quality and affordable online education. This partnership expands access and creates a new avenue for Polk State College graduates to become UCF Knights,” UCF Provost and Executive Vice President Dale Whittaker said. Located in Winter Haven, FL and established in 1964, Polk State College is a multi-campus institution serving over 15,000 students with Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science, Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees, as well as a wide range of certificate and workforce training options.
