 BayCare Medical Group is excited to announce the addition of an experienced and locally established family medicine physician to the primary care services in east Polk County. Dr. Margaret Eastham, who has been practicing in Polk County for 20 years, joined BMG in February. She has been practicing in Lake Wales for 19 years as an independent business owner, and practiced for one year in Haines City immediately after completing her residency program. Her support staff and location will remain the same as a BayCare Medical Group Primary Care practice. She is Florida-born, -raised, and -trained. The medical field interested Dr. Eastham as a young undergraduate student studying chemistry at Rollins College in Winter Park. After volunteering at a migrant clinic, she chose to further her education in medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and completed a family practice residency at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Today, she is board certified in family medicine and is a member of the Florida Medical Association.
Dr. Eastham sees adults and pediatrics age two and older, and enjoys a tight-knit relationship with each patient. She considers herself their “cruise director” who makes sure they see specialists as needed, adheres to schedules for screenings and tests, as well as tends to their general health.
