Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program is designed for business owners who have a business positioned for growth. Applicants must be passionate about growing their business, creating jobs in their communities and meet additional criteria such as the businesses being in operation for at least two years, business revenues over $150,000 in the most recent fiscal year, and businesses with a minimum of four employees, including the owner. This year, more than 5,000 business owners applied for the 133 positions and business leaders represented the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Philippines. “The program is designed to be highly participative and immediately impactful, emphasizing peer-to-peer and experiential learning focused on their specific business,” said Babson Professor Richard T. Bliss, National Academic Director of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses. “These business owners represent the best of the U.S. economy, and this program helps them grow their businesses, create new jobs, and strengthen our communities. Nearly 70% of participants increase revenues and 50% create new jobs just six months after graduating.”
During the past 11 weeks, Renee Pobjecky, partner of Pobjecky & Pobjecky, LLP worked together with other small business owners through the intensive entrepreneurship training and practical business education delivered from Goldman’s business experts. “The program taught me the importance of working on my business instead of just in my business. During the course, business experts worked with me to develop a growth opportunity to develop immigration compliance programs for businesses. As a Goldman alumnus, I am connected to a network of peer support from other small business owners, as well as leaders in the business world. I am excited to use the tools from the program to grow my firm and contribute to my community through job growth,” stated Renee Pobjecky. A global immigration and compliance firm, Pobjecky & Pobjecky, LLP, represents international investors, athletes, employers and employees throughout the United States and across the globe. The firm is excited to launch its immigration compliance department to reduce the I-9 headaches and potential for liability of businesses operating in the United States. The firm provides a full range of services designed to keep companies in compliance with all applicable immigration laws.
