SPCA Florida Barn Cat Program place fully vetted, including being spayed or neutered, cats who prefer the company of other animals or themselves into a safe, independent living setting such as a barn, outbuilding or even a factory or warehouse. Individuals interested in adopting barn cats must be able to provide the cats with shelter, food, water, and vet care.
“Barn cats typically prefer outdoor living. They are appropriately placed where they are wanted, valued, and cared for,” said Shelley Thayer, SPCA Florida Executive Director. A working member of the family, SPCA’s barn cat program will save lives. It also promotes a peaceful coexistence between felines and humans in a mutually beneficial partnership.
