Two Members of Knights of Columbus Council 7091 Advance to Second and Third Degree Status in K of C10/2/2019  Two members of Knights of Columbus Council 7091 of Cypress Gardens advanced through the ranks of knighthood by participating in Second and Third Degree exemplification ceremonies conducted on Saturday, September 21 at headquarters of Council 4726 in Winter Haven. Council 7091 members who participated in the back-to-back ceremonies were Alfonso Tenaglia and Regis DeVenanzio. They were accompanied to the ceremonials by their Council 7091 mentors Billy Bob Morris and Andrew Brownyard. District 32 Deputy Tom Berdis and Grand Knight John Richards of Council 4726 were the official hosts. A team led by Ron Abner of Council 2112 in Orlando conducted the Second Degree, with Chris Myers of Orlando directing the Third Degree. A total of 27 knights made their Second Degree and 39 completed the Third Degree.
The honoree for the Third Degree was Father Rony Paarakkal, parochial vicar at St. Joseph Church in Winter Haven. He was one of three Catholic priests who made both degrees, the others being Father David Vargas, pastor at Holy Spirit Church in Lake Wales and Father Eugene Grytner, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bartow. All of the newly-advanced knights, members of the degree teams and special guests were treated to lunch by the host council in a break between the two ceremonies. “We are pleased that Al and Regis made these degrees that gave them a better understanding of what the K of C is all about and enabled them to experience great fellowship by interacting with their brother knights,” Morris said.
