Winter Haven Chamber Foundation and State Farm Give $1,000 Scholarship to 5 Deserving Students5/31/2018 In partnership with State Farm, the Winter Haven Chamber Foundation presented a $1,000 college scholarship to five public high school seniors in the Winter Haven area. This scholarship is for students looking to pursue a college degree in business, marketing or any field where they hope to be an entrepreneur or business owner in the future. The five recipients of the $1,000 college scholarship were Caleb Brosey, from Winter Haven High School, Claudia Jean, from Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School, Charitinesia Johnson, from New Beginnings High School, Meera Patel, from Lake Region High School and Jesse Spence, from Lake Region High School. Caleb, who has already been accepted into the University of Florida, will be majoring in Finance and Business Management. He shared that he has always had an interest in math, stock trading and even becoming a business owner one day. Claudia has chosen to major in Nursing at Polk State College where she can utilize her desire to change people’s lives and impact them in a positive way. One of her career goals is to open her own clinic one day, as she believes that she has great leadership skills to do so. Charitinesia desires to be an entrepreneur, so she plans on majoring in Business at Polk State College. She shared that she has had this passion for a long time and is determined to pursue it. She is excited to begin her college journey so that she can obtain the knowledge she needs to be successful. Meera has been accepted into New York University and will be majoring in Business. She shared that DECA, a club she participated in at Lake Region High School, inspired her to choose Business as her major. She has a big interest in the marketing and economical side to business. Jesse intends on majoring in Accounting at Polk State College. He loves working with numbers and wants to make a future on his love for math. Jesse wants to not only make his parents proud, but to also make a difference in the people around him. Because of State Farm’s partnership with the Winter Haven Chamber Foundation, these 5 students will be able to further their education in hopes of making their dreams come true.
