This morning we welcomed over 150 people into The Ritz Theatre to hear the State of the City, sponsored by Tinsley Family Concessions. The City of Winter Haven has an amazing and passionate staff whose top priority is to our see our City thrive, and we were honored to have them share with us the many facets of Winter Haven’s growth and what we can expect for the future. When the New Year hits, many of us try to make resolutions that enhance our everyday lives. After the whirlwind of the holidays, making an extra effort to get organized is at the top of all of our lists. Nicole Ramer, owner of Organized Haven, placed organization at the very top of her list, making it into a successful business that assists people in organizing their homes, businesses and so much more. The Chamber is actively advocating for the community to reconnect and reengage with our Winter Haven schools. A quality education system leads to meaningful economic development and requires strong community support. Each volunteer at a Polk County public school is understandably required to undergo background checks and that cost is rising, forcing PCSB to evaluate the cost structure to apply to be a volunteer. The district is asking for the business community's support to offset or eliminate the cost to volunteer to help engage more volunteers in our schools. Please click this link for more information and consider sponsoring community engagement in our schools.
